He's the best Dem running. I still am not quite sure which Rep I like best. My boyfriend was watching the polls the other night and he's for Obama. He has already decided he's voting for Obama so he's emotionally invested in the election already. I have yet to remain faithful to one candidate. The polls he saw on TV showed Shrillery beating Obama and the boyfriend was pissed. His thought was that people are still so racist in this country they'd rather see a woman president than a black man. He might just have a point there.

But Obama was working the black angle pretty hard by appearing at MLK's church. Shrill can go to a black church to speak and she did--in Harlem. But to me, Obama clearly wins this political move of making the most of the holiday. It works in the same way that she can snivel on TV about how she had big plans for this country, but if Obama sniveled on TV, his career would be over. She gets to work the femininity angle like that.

But which angle will go farther in the election? If you just take a look at what takes a person farther in life (or what holds a person back) which is the bigger factor? Fortunately there's so much crazy stuff going on in the world right now for the candidates to react to so we can get their take on the war, the economy, and anything else that pops up. Take for instance the December 27 assassination of Benazir Bhutto. Out of all the canned responses from the candidates I read on CNN.com that week, only two candidates mentioned the importance of the danger of Pakistan being a nuclear state. They were republican Fred Thompson and democrat Chris Dodd.

Tumblr is becoming a quick favorite of mine

It's turning into a nice little scrapbook of quickie thoughts composed over the Apple widget "Tumblet." I'm a news junkie. I'm an election junkie. It has to come out somewhere so I can feel better, so here it goes...

I'm not an analyst, poli sci major, or anyone important enough for you to read. All I am is just another voter with a blog. Who knows if anyone will actually read this or think about anything I write. But I guess that's the fun of it all.

Some thoughts about today:

1. Soledad's back! So nice to see you again on CNN!

2. Shrillery has lost the election. She may as well pack it in and go home to Bill and join the threesome. Why? She CRIED. She SNIFFLED. On camera, on purpose, and in front of everyone! I think America is ready for a woman president, provided the woman is a tough chick who doesn't cry in front of her voters. Do you see Condoleeza cry when she has a rough day in the world of foreign relations? This isn't a pageant! Tears don't win you anything, honey.

3. It's too early to nominate the word of the year for 2008. "Change" is nice and all, but it could be usurped by the 2008 version of "flip flop" or whatever "subprime" turns out to be this year. Let's not get ahead of ourselves by jumping on the obvious here.

4. I still love Obama and I'm damn happy for him. But I still don't know who I'm voting for in November. I still have doubts about every single candidate. Well, except for McCain who I'd never vote for. Speaking of...

5. What color is Cindy McCain's face supposed to be? Anyone?

6. I still don't give a shit who Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins, Chuck Norris, and Oprah Winfrey want to vote for.

7. Liz Edwards looks OK.

8. Michelle Obama looks amazing.

9. Before you ask, yes, it does matter what these people look like, how they dress, and everything they do and say all year. Woot! Let the fun begin!

10. Why hasn't anyone come up with a silly spoof on an "I Heart Huckabees" t-shirt yet? I'm far too busy. You do it and let me know.

11. Romney looks kind of dorky, kind of too perky, like he's trying too hard.

12. I wonder if any of the candidates use a Mac?

OK, I'll stop now. It feels good to blog about an election!

Kramer Met Al Gore!

Kramer is my coworker at 98-7 The Peak; we both work weekends on the air. To keep asking over and over again the dumbest question of all, "why?" allows the REAL story to go unoticed.

It's useless to ask why. Hello! This Cho character was a mentally ill person. It never ceases to amaze me how normal people feel the need to ask the "why" question over and over when not built to understand it to begin with because they are SANE. Just an observation.

Anyway, there is real story. No, actually I think there is more than one real story here. So here's just one.

If you want to understand the mind of a crazy person for your own spiritual needs or whatever, don't bother. Answer your "why" question with this. The guy did it because he had too many rights, and this is true of most mentally ill people walking around freely today. He did it because no one could stop him:

http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/c/a/2007/04/22/MNGEMPDE6V1.DTL

Maybe it's time to change the laws. He's raised $25 million so far this year. It makes your $26 million look kind of paltry, doesn't it Hillary? Meanwhile, I'm for Obama for President, obviously. I even have a little Obama ad on my MySpace page though it remains to be seen how much MySpace will influence the election next year. Obama is also my MySpace friend and so is Joe Biden. I still think Web 2.0 is going to have a nice impact on who becomes our next president. Blogging made the 2004 election evolve into something much more exciting and now it's mainstream.
