The REAL Story of VT

The media has wasted time and resources glamorizing the violence of some nutjob kid in regards to the Virgina Tech story. To keep asking over and over again the dumbest question of all, "why?" allows the REAL story to go unoticed.

It's useless to ask why. Hello! This Cho character was a mentally ill person. It never ceases to amaze me how normal people feel the need to ask the "why" question over and over when not built to understand it to begin with because they are SANE. Just an observation.

Anyway, there is real story. No, actually I think there is more than one real story here. So here's just one.

If you want to understand the mind of a crazy person for your own spiritual needs or whatever, don't bother. Answer your "why" question with this. The guy did it because he had too many rights, and this is true of most mentally ill people walking around freely today. He did it because no one could stop him:

Maybe it's time to change the laws. I say that as someone who once had to go to court to get a protective order against a schizophrenic stalker.

"No hay mal que por bien no venga" - there is nothing bad from which good cannot come.

Radar's MySpace Friend Race

You may think I'm crazy, as many times as I've brought up the way MySpace potentially factors into Election 2008, but Radar seems to be going in much the same obsessive direction as I am. So much in fact that they have a graphic! See, they're already more nuts than me.

Radar MySpace Friend Race.

I'm sure you're not at all surprised who has the most friends. Yes, I'm one of Obama's friends. If you're one of his top friends, I'm so jealous!

And I admit, I do have one of these on my profile:

I will also admit I had the Hillary 1984 video on my profile ages ago as well. I will also admit I have yet to donate to his campaign. Not like he needs my help.

If you're Obama's friend, you received this earlier in the week:

Date: Apr 3, 2007 4:42 PM
Subject We're on our way to 100,000!
Body: Friends and fellow supporters of Senator Barack Obama,

We're well on our way to 100,000 friends.

Many of you have been around since 2004, and we've had about 20,000 new friends just in the past couple of weeks.

Thank you all for helping to make this the largest community of supporters for any presidential candidate on Myspace!

If you're not already registered to vote, I've added a link where you can do so quickly and easily, right here on this profile.

Please show your support by posting an Obama '08 banner on your profile.

We've all chipped in and made a lot of noise for the Obama campaign so far. Let's keep it up through 2008 and get him the Democratic nomination!

Thank you all,

-Joe, moderator

Will the one who rules MySpace end up ruling the country? Do MySpace-aged people get out of bed to get to the polls on election day?

This guy's better than an Indian casino!

Obama continues to kick butt with his fundraising activities.

The Chicago Tribune also has a dedicated Obama Watch for your reading pleasure.

Wonder how all the other candidates feel? Hillary does OK, but he rivals her dollar amount so she certainly can't feel safe. It's nice to see a woman running again, but she's not my favorite woman for the job. I'm still thinking about her failed healthcare initiative from back in the day, all that White Water, and how annoying these political dynasties are. Reagan, Bush, Clinton... Let's get some new life in there. No more of this legacy stuff. Our leadership has gotten stale.

The $25 Million Man

Obama has proven he has the fundraising clout! He's raised $25 million so far this year. It makes your $26 million look kind of paltry, doesn't it Hillary? Meanwhile, I'm for Obama for President, obviously. I even have a little Obama ad on my MySpace page though it remains to be seen how much MySpace will influence the election next year. Obama is also my MySpace friend and so is Joe Biden. I still think Web 2.0 is going to have a nice impact on who becomes our next president. Blogging made the 2004 election evolve into something much more exciting and now it's mainstream. So what will be the next exciting thing to come along to supercharge online communities for the big even next year?
